Whats next for the stalemate in Wisconsin???

Over the weekend 'unions leaders announced they were willing to concede the financial aspect of the bill in exchange for being allowed to keep collective bargaining.  Governor Walker refused this saying "there is nothing to negotiate".  With Democratic lawmakers still out of state and no end in sight, what do you feel should be done to end the stalemate?

Make sure to fully explain your answer, don't just take the simple answer to a complex issue; discuss all aspects of your proposal.

  1. I think they should stay out of state until scott walker decides to give them what they want. They cant pass any bills without the democrats so its in their hands to control what's happening. They shouldn't give in because its their job to stand up for what they believe. I would make scott walker change the bill before i came back and voted.

  2. I think the Democratic legislators should get back to the capital and do there job so they can vote on the bill and the state can move forward.

  3. I think they should come back to Wisconsin and just vote because the bill is going to pass no matter what. But I also think they should stay because they are standing up for what they believe is right.

  4. I think that Scott Walker should come up with some sort of compromise that could stop the protests but also get the main ideas of his initial bill to pass. If he would compromise the bill to a certain extent, both parties would be satisfied, the Democrats could return to the state and vote on the bill. It could also go in the other direction where people may not even want a compromise and only will be fully satisfied when the bill is thrown out completely, but only time will tell in what the Governor will do and how the people will react.

  5. The fact that Walker says that there is nothin to negotiate makes me feel that he should stick to his guns and stay with this stance. The democrats are giving threats hoping that it will make Walker change his stance. Walker has stated that it's just theatrics so there is no reason for him to change his stance. If he really wants the democrats to return to Wisconsin he could change the slightest thing on the bill, while saying he'd change more just to get them to vote. It would be deemed a dirty hoodwink but it could be necessary.

  6. I think the Dremocrats should come back to Wisconsin and just vote on the bill. Once the bill is voted on and we have an outcome, we can move on and go from there. The democrats can't stay away for ever. I hope that Walker doesn't negoiate anything because everything in it is necessary.

  7. I think that this bill just needs to be voted on already. Christ it's going to affect people either way. Io don't think that walker needs to make any changes to this bill. Fair is fair. It's about time this is happening. And the fact that the democrats left doesn't help any. It's getting more people fired up and that's the last thing we need right now.

  9. I think that they should stay out of the state until walker changes the bill so that both sides agree on the bill.

  10. Either they should come back or they should be fired. This is not how stuff happens in the government. You vote on bills not run away they need to deal with it like real men and women of the USA>

  11. I think they should vote without them. The people elected are suppose to represent the people in WI and if they choose to pass this bill then that means that the majority of WI thinks that it should be passed to.

  12. The democrats are countering the bill the only way they can right now. Scott Walker using his power to shove the bill down Wisconsinites throats is not how a democracy should work. The democrats are giving him a taste of his own medicine right now, which he rightfully deserves. They need to make it so that Walker's only move can be to negotiate, which is an important part of how government in America is done.

  13. I think Walker should learn to negotiate with the democrats. The obvious problem most people have with the bill is the bargaining rights. So they all need to meet up, and negotiate and talk about the problems and bill like adults.

  14. Why run away?! That proves nothing. Get back here and negotiate like adults.

  15. Seriously, what is this helping? nothing! this is only making things worse. We choose these people to represent us and this is what they do. twow. do something about it and get ur hineys back here and discuss like adults.

  16. I think that Walker is just trying to make a point that he is not going to budge. I think that he should stop being so stubborn and maybe just hear out what they have to say. He doesn't have to negotiate but he could at least hear what the democrats have to say. He is the governor of Wisconsin and that means that he should do what is best for Wisconsin, and letting the democrats take off and be stubborn about it is not the approach that he should take.

  17. This is not how government works. If they don't come back they should be fired. They are only being fired 100 dollars a day they should be fined 1000 dollars a day. Governor Walker should act upon this issue and give the senators an ulitimatum.

  18. The only reason ther is a stalemate is because of the democrats they won't vote on the bill because they're stalling for time. They know that they can't win and are just making it hard for progress. The democrats have to get their shit together and deal with it. As for ending the stalemate I think there shouldn't be one at all.
